A breaker trips again and again

That circuit is overloaded or the breaker itself is wearing out. It's doing its job, but it's telling you something.

Why it matters: repeated trips cook the breaker's internals, eventually it stops protecting the wire at all.

Why Cunningham Electric

The electrician your inspector would hire.

Twenty years of doing it by the book: real load calculations, permits pulled, labels on every breaker, and a price that was agreed before the ladder came off the truck.

Meet the crew
01

Flat price, approved first

One number in writing, labor, materials, permit. It doesn't creep while the wall is open.

02

To code, not "good enough"

We wire like the inspector is watching, because ours pass first time, and that record matters to us.

03

Clean panels, labeled breakers

You get a panel you can read and a home you understand, every circuit labeled before we leave.

04

Warrantied in writing

Two years on workmanship, honored without a debate. If it flickers again, we're back, free.

Charging at home

Wake up to a full battery.

Level 2 charging adds ~30 miles of range per hour, installed with a real load calculation so your panel can take it, permitted, and tidy against the wall. Most installs are done in one morning.

Homeowner guides

Know your electrical system before it warns you twice.

Short, honest answers to the questions every homeowner asks, no jargon, no upsell.

What is my panel telling me?

Breakers that trip are messengers, overload, short or ground fault, each has a story. Resetting is fine once, resetting weekly is a diagnosis being ignored.

Warm breakers, buzzing or a burnt smell end the conversation, that panel wants professional eyes before it wants another reset.

Are extension cords a plan?

For a weekend, yes. As permanent wiring, never. Cords under rugs, daisy-chained strips and outlet multipliers are how circuits get quietly overloaded.

The honest fix is more outlets where life actually happens, a small job that retires a dozen small risks.

Which outlets protect against what?

Ground-fault protection watches for electricity leaking through water or you, it belongs near sinks, tubs, garages and outdoors. Arc-fault protection listens for the crackle of damaged wiring, it guards bedrooms and living space.

Modern codes layer both, older homes can be upgraded point by point, protection where each risk actually lives.

Questions, answered

My breaker keeps tripping, can I just put in a bigger one?+
Please don't, the breaker is sized to protect the wire behind it. A bigger breaker on the same wire is how house fires start. We find what's overloading the circuit and fix that instead.
Do you charge to come out?+
The diagnostic visit is a posted flat fee, credited fully toward the repair. You always get the flat repair price before any work starts, no hourly meter running while we look.
Do I need a permit for a panel or EV charger?+
In Casper, yes for both, and unpermitted electrical bites hardest at resale or with insurance claims. We pull the permit, meet the inspector, and it's included in the flat price.
Are old aluminum or knob-and-tube wires dangerous?+
They're not automatically an emergency, but they need the right connectors and honest evaluation. We'll tell you what's actually risky, what can wait, and what a staged fix costs, no scare tactics.
How fast can you get here?+
Emergencies: we answer fast-response and prioritize anything that smells hot. Standard work: usually within a couple of days, with a real time window and a text when we're rolling.
Can my panel handle an EV charger or hot tub?+
That's exactly what a load calculation answers, we measure what your home actually draws instead of guessing. Often yes; when it's no, we'll show you the numbers and the options.
What does your warranty cover?+
Two years on our workmanship, in writing, plus manufacturer warranties on fixtures and devices. If something we installed acts up, the return visit is free.
